Beyond the Checkbox: Free Guide

A free fill-in-the-blank guide for business owners. Write the accessibility description your Google listing is missing, in about 20 minutes, with a tape measure.

A checkbox can't describe your door

Google gives your business a few yes-or-no boxes for accessibility, like "wheelchair accessible entrance." It can't say your ramp is great but your door is heavy, or that your restroom is reachable but tight. So customers call to ask, or they show up, look at the door, and leave.

Beyond the Checkbox helps you write the paragraph those boxes can't hold.

Made by someone who uses a wheelchair

Upfront Accessible was started by Corey Ayres, a Pittsburgh designer who uses a wheelchair. Every profile we publish is photographed curb to counter at seated eye level.

Describing your space honestly is good communication. It is not an ADA assessment, and it doesn't make a business compliant or non-compliant.
